Translation:
Sanjaya said
To him who was overwhelmed with pity and sorrow and eyes were dimmed with tears, Madhusudana (Krishna) spoke following words to him
Description:
As we have seen in the chapter-1, Arjuna was overwhelmed after seeing all his friends and relatives in the battle field. Rather he put his bow and arrows down and just sat down in his chariot with full of questions in his mind regarding, how will he fight and kill his own kinsmen.
But, to keep his Dharma, Arjuna has to fight in this great battle and now Krishna, as his best friend and charioteer spoke those words which are the real Mantras for the art of living a sacred life.
sanjaya uvaacha: Sanjaya said ; tathaa: thus ; aavishtam: overwhelmed ; ashrupoornaakulekshanam: full of tears in eyes ; idam: these ; vaakyam: words
