Bhagavad Gita - Chapter 1(Part-47)
Arjuna Vishaada Yogah:
"Arjuna's Despondency Stage"

sanjaya uvaacha
evamuktwaarjunah sankhye rathopastha upaavishat
visrujya sasharam chaapam shokasamvignamaanasah // 1.47 //

Translation:
Sanjaya said
By speaking all these words in the middle of the battlefield, Arjuna, throws away his bow and arrows and sank into the seat of his chariot with his mind full of sorrows.

Description:
By keeping the chariot in the middle of both the armies while Arjuna observing the enemies, he finds his own friends & relatives in both the side. Finally, he decided not to fight. So, he threw away his bow and arrows as a symbol of not willing to fight and sank into the seat of his chariot. As a friend as well as the charioteer of Arjuna, Lord Krishna didn't interrupt him by any mean during expressing his sorrow. Because after that what message he was going to deliver in front of Arjuna would be fully effective for Arjuna and for the entire mankind.
